About The Position

The Field Engineering Specialist will be responsible for providing a wide variety of technical and maintenance support on airframe, avionics systems, and inspections on aircraft. Essential Functions: Assist in ground handling of aircraft to include Pre-flight and Post-flight checkout. Adequately trained for troubleshooting of mission equipment. Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action. Assist in defining necessary equipment (including piece parts) and technical data to be included in the Primary Mission Support Kits. Implement preventive maintenance programs and keep performance and maintenance records on equipment. Aircraft reconfiguration assistance in keeping with specific mission requirements. Personnel may be required to deploy aircraft with mission to Depot Maintenance facility to provide technical support and maintenance assistance. Will require travel up to 30% worldwide. Must be able to perform short notice/call duties as required to facilitate aircraft maintenance. Use Maintenance Information Systems to review maintenance bulletins for quality/accuracy. Ability to work alone or within a group. Use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings. High degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills. Daily interaction with customers at different levels. Ability to lift, bend, and climb is essential. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of experience with a variety of technical and maintenance support on airframe, avionics systems, and inspections on aircraft.
  • Graduate Degree with two (2) years of experience with a variety of technical and maintenance support on airframe, avionics systems, and inspections on aircraft.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of experience with a variety of technical and maintenance support on airframe, avionics systems, and inspections on aircraft.
  • Active FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance at the time of hire. Clearance must have been updated in the last 5 years.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Boeing 757 experience.
  • Boeing Narrow Body Aircraft / RB211 engine experience.
