Conveyor Technician Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Conveyor Mechanic to maintain and repair our client baggage handling system related material handling equipment. The successful candidate will ensure optimal system performance, minimize downtime, and maintain safety standards across our system operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance, preferably with conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with motor controls, sensors, and PLC systems.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and work in various positions including standing, kneeling, and working overhead.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on conveyor systems, including belt adjustments, motor servicing, and component lubrication.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting procedures.
• Replace worn components such as belts, rollers, bearings, and drive motors to maintain system efficiency.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all systems meet OSHA and company safety standards.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate service records.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdown calls and perform urgent repairs to minimize production interruptions.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or major overhauls.
