Maintenance Technician – JLL What this job involves: You'll be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring building mechanical systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, and building automation systems. This role requires ensuring optimal performance of all mechanical equipment while maintaining safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient building operations for tenants and occupants. What your day-to-day will look like: Monitor and operate complex building systems through Building Management Systems (BMS) and direct equipment inspection Perform routine maintenance on boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, and related mechanical equipment Conduct equipment rounds, record operational data, and adjust system parameters for optimal performance Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and perform preventive maintenance tasks Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs Maintain accurate logs, work orders, and equipment documentation in CMMS systems Monitor energy consumption, identify efficiency improvements, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and operating permits

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience operating and maintaining commercial building mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and building automation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Physical ability to w ork in mechanical rooms, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pound s
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of OSHA safety regul ations and environmental compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
  • Additional trade certifications (electrical, HVAC, plumbing)
  • 5+ years of commercial building operations experience
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of energy management and building optimization
  • Previous experience in critical facilities (hospitals, data centers, laboratories)
  • Boiler inspection or welding certifications
