About The Position

The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for supporting military communication products throughout their lifecycles. The Product Support Engineering team is looking for a digital or computer engineer with an understanding of SW to support tactical radio products. The successful candidate will collaborate with multifunctional teams to diagnose, debug, and resolve HW and SW yield issues. You will also work closely with manufacturing to improve product tests and be a liaison between engineering and manufacturing for SW related activities. As part of engineering, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow while providing support to the broader organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Working knowledge of C++ and/or Java programming languages

  • Must be a quick learner, great problem solver, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Familiarity with LabView, JIRA, and Python a plus
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities
  • Experience with tactical radio HW including test and analysis tasks at the component, assembly and unit levels
  • Working knowledge of RF & Analog circuitry
  • Ability to use typical lab equipment: oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, and signal generators

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with technicians to analyze board and radio failures to root cause. Determine whether issue is SW, digital HW, or test related and then determine the corrective action.
  • Work with the design team to validate new SW releases, document issues via JIRA, and assist manufacturing with the introduction of the new SW.
  • Document test and debug software capabilities and applications.
  • Summarize SW designs and changes to share with the HW and manufacturing technical teams.
  • Perform technical reviews, design analysis, development, and factory introduction of radio software.
  • Work with the SW design team to modify existing HW & SW to support root cause analysis of radio systems; including test builds with additional debug commands.
  • Perform radio and assembly level troubleshooting and technician training as needed.
  • Perform root cause analysis for both customer and manufacturing SW issues.
  • Track and report the status of tasks, deliverables, and issues.
  • Create and update Trouble Reports (TRs) in the JIRA database.
  • Review quality trends and yields and work with cross functional teams to improve product quality.
  • Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance.
