About The Position

EHS Specialist. The EHS Specialist on 2nd Shift performs a variety of tasks dedicated to making employees safety conscientious and aware of potential hazards to reduce accidents and make the company a safe and desirable place to work.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
1-2 years in a similar role.
Willingness to participate in on-the-job training for OSHA, RCRA, CPR First Aid & AED classes, injury, and accident investigations.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and maintain AAR Safety and Environmental audits.
Conduct appropriate safety and environmental training classes.
Performs in plant accident investigations to determine root causes, then develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
Training and updating of training with regards to environmental, health and safety issues such as hi-lo driver training, accident investigation, respirator fit testing training, hazard communications, etc.
Coordinates safety efforts with plant supervision and safety committee.
Maintain records on accidents and audits.
Analyzes data to find accident trends and develop remedies for unsafe conditions or actions.
Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct, ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting safety; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
