About The Position

The Specialist, Donor Care at Make-A-Wish America plays a crucial role in managing donor data and ensuring exceptional customer service for donors and chapters. This position involves data entry, training external vendors, and collaborating with leadership to enhance donor care processes. The Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate donor information and supporting fundraising initiatives, contributing to the organization's mission of granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a non-profit environment.
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with Salesforce software required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of customer service or donor-facing experience is helpful.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification or higher is preferred.
  • Experience in fundraising initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Enter constituent and donor data into CRM accurately and timely.
  • Train and manage external vendor partners for task completion.
  • Perform data entry of donor information, donations, and gift batches into enterprise CRM.
  • Make decisions impacting chapter and national fundraising and financial reporting.
  • Import large volumes of gift, donor, and fundraising information with attention to detail.
  • Ensure returned mail and matching gift request forms are processed appropriately.
  • Complete complex helpdesk tasks ensuring high customer service levels.
  • Track and distribute funds to Make-A-Wish Chapters.
  • Assist in creating and updating Standards of Use (SOUs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead process improvement initiatives for donor acknowledgment and data entry activities.
