About The Position

Nationwide is seeking a Specialist, Delivery Coordinator to join its Technology team, specifically within Document Solutions, part of Technology Enterprise Solutions (TES). This role is for individuals passionate about enabling a Fortune 100 company to drive innovation and adopt new technologies, focusing on delivering secure technology solutions and extraordinary customer care. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring two days (Monday and Tuesday) per week in the Columbus, OH office. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with enterprise portfolio management tools like Planview and Jira, strong organizational and negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of portfolio planning processes including intake, prioritization, funding alignment, capacity/demand planning, and lifecycle governance. The Delivery Coordinator will optimize these processes to enhance visibility, predictability, and alignment across technical and business teams. Key responsibilities include providing coordination, support, and assistance to Application Product Managers, Delivery Leaders, and Business Solution Leaders, with a primary focus on intake, resource and demand management, and financial management.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing and tracking work within enterprise portfolio management tools, specifically Planview and Jira.
  • Strong organization and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of portfolio planning processes and flows—such as intake, prioritization, funding alignment, capacity/demand planning, and lifecycle governance—and be able to optimize these processes to drive visibility, predictability, and alignment across technical and business teams.
  • Four years of experience in technology or related field.
  • Two years of experience in delivery.
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations.
  • Aptitude to influence, establish relationships and set priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of associates, senior management and/or vendors.

  • Undergraduate studies (bachelor’s degree preferred) in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science, data analytics or comparable experience and education strongly preferred.

  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the delivery of outcomes to realize the business case, lead dependency scope definition during planning, and lead intake processes.
  • Partner in the preparation and maintenance of financial estimates, business cases and data analysis.
  • Lead project intake, prioritization, demand management, review of issues, risks and dependencies.
  • Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare delivery status/health reports, Planview data/reports, value delivery tracking (ex: KPIs), and manage demand/capacity elements.
  • Craft program/portfolio and other financials, analyze variances, and provide financial reporting.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of resource capacity aligned with planning roadmap(s), Assist leaders with resource allocations and assignments using standard tools.
  • Provide appropriate information to ensure staffing levels are aligned to all demand impacting the area.
  • Find opportunities to improve processes, automation and inefficiencies.
  • Prepare regular communications and provide visibility of business cases/outcomes.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
