About The Position

Supports the District’s data and reporting needs related to student achievement outcomes by facilitating the daily usability of Published Data databases. Assists Research, Analytics, Assessment & Data (RAAD) analysts by maintaining standardized databases and ensuring documentation for data extraction logic is accurate. Regularly executes queries to pull data, performs database updates, and generates reports using established tools to ensure streamlined access to information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Social Sciences.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of professional experience in data management, data analysis, or a technical support role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including formula/expression writing in MS Excel.
  • Proficiency with Google products including Google Docs, Google Sheets, & Google Slides.
  • Familiarity and proficiency with R, Python, and Snowflake.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting techniques to isolate, diagnose, and repair data defects.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss issues at a technical and non-technical level with programmers and project stakeholders.
  • Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
  • Works collaboratively with others on a team.
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates Published Data databases used by department analysts.
  • Ensures documentation of existing business rules remains current and reflects any minor logic updates
  • Executes standardized processes for state submissions. Coordinates the preparation of data files and ensures all submissions align with established business rules and timelines
  • Performs regular data loads to external assessment vendor systems.
  • Provides technical support for rostering and troubleshooting data entry points for the Assessment Team
  • Executes established workflows for loading vendor and state-supplied scores into the department Score Repository. Validates load success and flags discrepancies
  • Collaborates with the Senior Data Specialists and Data Systems Manager to provide operational insights.
