About The Position

The Data Strategy & Innovation Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Health organization by developing strategies for sourcing and creating commercial data assets. This position focuses on informing business decisions and actions within the Pharma group, particularly in Chronic Care, Hospital Specialty, and PAH. The Specialist will assist in implementing the data asset strategy and innovation agenda, ensuring effective use of data to drive business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data analytics, data strategy, or related functions.
  • Knowledge in analyzing healthcare administrative data and electronic health records.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of leveraging data for commercial decisions.
  • Willingness to learn how to analyze and assess the commercial value of data assets.
  • Ability to effectively partner with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Effective presentation, analytics, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MS (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira.
  • Professional experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in data analytics or related functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance of the HH commercial data landscape, including various data assets related to HCP, consumer, payer, patient, and account.
  • Scan the external environment for new valuable data assets.
  • Assist in data needs assessments, identifying gaps in current data strategy and prioritizing them.
  • Improve existing and develop new data strategy workflows by streamlining and automating processes.
  • Support plans to fill prioritized data gaps, including acquiring new assets and gathering 1st party data.
  • Partner with internal teams to ingest and review external data sources for analytics.
  • Conduct data innovation diagnostics tasks, including data quality assessments and proof-of-concept tests.
  • Work closely with data management teams to ensure proper implementation and value realization.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to foster high-performance partnerships.
  • Develop industry knowledge and brand/market domain expertise.
