The Specialist, Configuration Management is a critical engineering role responsible for performing configuration management functions to ensure consistency of product performance and attributes with requirements and design. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity of system documentation and providing support to engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert.

  • Develop and modify Configuration Management processes and procedures and ensure adherence on all projects.
  • Review and provide feedback on configuration and design aspects of documentation releases.
  • Analyze change notices to technical product documentation to determine the effect on programs.
  • Administer CM tools used to store, track, and manage configuration items.
  • Support performing audits to ensure adherence to CM processes and procedures.
  • Update technical documentation per change notices where applicable.
  • Manage and administer source CAD data product data management.
  • Oversee full product detail including engineering and manufacturing technical documentation.
  • Assist in training document management system users.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in internal and customer audits.
  • Cross train with other functions within the department.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate/Master's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • At least 4 years of Configuration Management experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience applying the principles of EIA-649.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, such as Costpoint, at a proficient level.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience using issue tracking tools such as JIRA, at a proficient level.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience using MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint at a proficient level.
  • CMPIC certification
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with engineering drawing standards (ASME, ANSI, IEEE, etc.)
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience using CAD and PDM tools such as SolidWorks/Windchill, at a proficient level.
  • Advanced level knowledge and use of CMMi, Costpoint ERP, Teamcenter PLM, SolidWorks, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
