About The Position

The Role Entegris is currently seeking a Specialist, Chemistry to join our team. This position will be based in our Ambler, PA facility. In this role, you will … be responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting chemical processes used in production. This role ensures that all processes are efficient, scalable, safe, and compliant with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Process Chemist works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure consistent product performance and to support business growth

Requirements

  • Strong synthetic and analytical chemistry skills
  • They should understand reaction mechanisms, purification strategies, and how to troubleshoot chemical processes.
  • Experience scaling reactions from lab → pilot → production
  • A top process chemist knows how to translate a benchtop reaction into a safe, costeffective, and reproducible manufacturing process.
  • Deep knowledge of process safety
  • Including thermal hazards, reaction kinetics, and safe operating windows — essential for preventing batch failures or incidents.
  • Ability to design and optimize robust processes
  • Reduce cycle time, improve yield, control impurities, and improve repeatability.
  • Troubleshooting mindset
  • Can quickly diagnose batch deviations, quality issues, or equipment-related constraints.
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Works well with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to keep operations flowing smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare solutions by weighing ingredients and dissolving and diluting substances
  • Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine their composition
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative experiments considering the volume and structure of ingredients
  • Customize formulas and use different reagents to test chemical reactions
  • Write technical reports of the test results
  • Develop nonstandard tests for chemical products
  • Maintain lab equipment and troubleshoot or report on malfunctions
  • Refine chemical products to improve their quality
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety guidelines
  • Sterilize equipment and store materials in secure places
  • Willingness to work off-hours upon request
