About The Position

The Student Services Specialist for Single Parent Pathways to Success (SPPS) provides comprehensive student services and administrative support, focusing on the scholarship process and student guidance through college systems. This role involves outreach, recruitment, and participation in special projects, with a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Up to one year of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Serves as first point-of contact; monitors and responds to a variety of student inquiries using online services, email, and phone.
  • Provides information and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and the public regarding application procedures and scholarship eligibility requirements.
  • Addresses student concerns and refers students to appropriate campus resources, escalating concerns to supervisor as needed.
  • Maintains and updates confidential files and records.
  • Researches, compiles, and summarizes data for a variety of reports.
  • Assists with accurate processing and distribution of scholarships.
  • Conducts recruitment and outreach for the SPPS scholarship by sharing flyers, tabling at events, and other related activities.
  • Participates in the development of a monthly newsletter and shares information about campus resources, events, and workshops with scholarship recipients via email.
  • Supports with coordination of family-centered events, workshops, trainings, career fairs, and additional projects or activities.
  • Provides input on the development of program procedures and resources.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
