About The Position

This position is for a motivated individual that is interested in diagnostic testing in the medical field. On-the-job training of all testing equipment will be provided. Intermittent travel to satellite offices may be required as needed. This individual will be responsible for performing all diagnostic tests appropriately, efficiently, and accurately documented.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • COA preferred (Must acquire certification within 18 months to retain position)
  • Previous experience in the Specials Department
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Personable; empathetic with both patient and staff concerns
  • Well organized, accurate documentation with attention to fine detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible attitude with excellent problem solving abilities and flexibility
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Willing to travel to satellite locations

Responsibilities

  • Performs intravenous fluorescein angiographies and ICG angiographies
  • Performs color fundus photography, optical coherence tomography
  • Obtains informed consent form when applicable
  • Performs visual field testing
  • Performs A-Scan and Corneal Topography testing
  • Ensures proper maintenance of cameras and associated instruments
  • Assists with the flow of the clinic
  • Maintains adequate levels of supplies for imaging department
  • Adheres to OSHA, HIPAA and security protocols
  • Consults with senior management regarding problems and interpretation of policies to ensure patient needs are met
  • Remain current on credit hours and JCAHPO certification
  • Performs other tasks as required
  • Performs patient work-ups and diagnostic testing as required by senior level clinical staff
  • Addresses patient questions, concerns, and complaints with the goal of attaining resolution for the patient
  • Works up patients for all physicians as required
  • Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks
  • Administer topical and oral medication under the direct supervision of a physician
  • Troubleshoots instrument repairs as necessary and reports necessary repairs per policy
  • Performs or delegates calibrations according to manufacturer and/or Graystone requirements
  • Assume responsibility for continuous learning by attending in-services, staff meetings and updates
  • Assists all members of your team and more junior employees with training and continuous learning
  • Maintain OSHA and HIPAA compliance
