About The Position

Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service Repair, maintain, dismantle structures, furniture, woodwork, doors, folding walls, ceilings, tile, sheetrock and hardware throughout the resort. Visually inspect, diagnoses problems, takes measurements and makes necessary adjustments to items such as door hardware to ensure safe smooth operation of guestrooms, public space, and back of the house facilities. Maintain and repair doors, furniture, windows, hang artwork, headboards, mirrors, etc. Performs shop work to repair or build furniture and small structures. Identifies types and grades of wood and is familiar with hardware materials available to the Carpentry trade. Able to work closely with Vendors and team members to ensure proper quantities of building supplies are always on hand without exceeding the monthly budget. Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests, colleagues, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial electricity, HVAC, and refrigeration
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • Working knowledge of all electrical supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • o blue prints and wiring schematics
  • o power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades
  • Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, parts inventory and requisition, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
  • Fluency in job related English, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Compute mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).
  • Ability to:
  • o Interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparations, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property
  • o Be well organized and follow instructions
  • o Focus attention on details
  • o Operate high reach lifts
  • o Prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments
  • o Be a clear thinker and perform well under pressure work assignments
  • o Work and perform job functions with minimal supervision
  • o Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
