About The Position

Who We Are: The Center for Responsible Lending (CRL) is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization working to ensure a fair, inclusive financial marketplace that creates opportunities for all. Through research, legal analysis, policy development, and state and national advocacy engagement, CRL fights for economic equity for underserved communities—particularly Black and brown communities and low-to-middle income families. CRL’s staff, allies, and funders reflect a collective commitment to eliminating systemic injustice in America’s financial services. CRL provides a strong voice on both the state and national levels for these families to expand family wealth and financial stability through sustainable homeownership, affordable higher education, and support for small businesses, and protect their financial stability by preventing abusive products that trap families in debt and strip away their income, by ending payday lending and other predatory high-cost lending, exorbitant bank fees, and abusive debt collection practices. CRL is an affiliate of Self-Help, a community development lender founded in 1980. We are seeking an Executive Staff Project Manager for our Washington, DC team! This role can sit in Durham, NC or Washington, DC. What You’ll Do: PROJECT MANAGEMENT Increase organizational efficiencies through process streamlining, the review and evaluation of workflows, and cross-team coordination. With senior leaders, coordinate and manage high-level projects deemed critical to advancing organizational priorities. Monitor project progress and adjust as needed; measure project performance to identify areas for improvement. Examples of other types of related assignments and projects may include: Working with CRL senior leaders to organize and mobilize organizational resources around new initiatives/issues for CRL to pursue. Facilitate and organize meetings of senior leaders within the assigned portfolio, including weekly leadership meetings and management retreats. Providing analytical support on major operational decisions/processes. Tracking and helping to prioritize activities within CRL that require the senior leaders’ attention. Joining a collaborative table of mission-aligned advocacy partners to advance specific policy agendas. Performing other duties as assigned. ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE Work alongside staff and help build and promote a responsive culture. Help develop and lead the implementation of initiatives that promote and support continuous employee engagement, culture development, and organizational transformation. PEOPLE SUPERVISION Provide guidance and support to finance and operations staff team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years related experience.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to initiate, juggle and lead multiple projects to meet goals, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Highly resourceful and self-starter and fast learner; able to successfully function well with minimal direction and effectively work behind the scenes.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; data analysis skills desired.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional and/or graduate school.
  • Experience in organizational management or employment engagement initiatives a plus.
