About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Projects Electrician B to join our team in Tukwila, WA. Position Responsibilities: Obtain work through sources (lead, work order (W/O), engineering, production). Work independently on electronic assemblies/wiring, completing assigned work. Provide assistance to lower classified employees performing electrical/electronic work. Work with customers (engineering, production, using shops) in the development of electrical components. Use visual acuity in identifying electronic or electrical components (wires, diodes, capacitors) for use on assemblies (wire harnesses, circuit boards, cables), to ensure correct installation. Develop form boards with wiring schematic pre-positioned in place to fabricate wiring harnesses. Perform work applying protection (wire mesh, rubber coatings, plastic tubing) to wiring harnesses. Use hand/power tools (crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, drill motors) to assemble/install, or attach ends to wiring. Perform precision soldering on wiring/circuit boards and connections of electronic assemblies to ensure continuity. Use an ergonomic microscope to visually locate small electronic components (diodes, capacitors, resistors) on circuit boards. Operate a personal computer to access information (specifications, drawings) for wiring assemblies/components. Use basic math to calculate electronic/electrical specifications used in wiring schematics. Use test equipment (volt-ohm meter (M1)) to test continuity of wires/electronic components. Monitor completed jobs or in-process checks per W/O, drawing, Boeing specification, at appropriate steps in sequence. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner. Maintain certifications in compliance to Boeing regulations. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in constructing wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials/relative experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with powered hand tools.
  • Minimum one year of experience in electrical/electronic schematics and drawings.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an operations environment.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Manufacturing.
