Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of Special Education experience.
  • Supervisor experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.).
  • Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc.
  • Ability to clear required background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Previous experience as an online Educator.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure conformance of Special Education programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities.
  • Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards as needed.
  • Articulate the school’s mission and vision to ensure all stakeholders have a common understanding.
  • Utilize communication technologies and practices that effectively support a predominantly virtual/remote work environment.
  • Ensure that the school meets the needs of Special Education students while complying with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Interface with Special Education students, families, local Municipal Court systems, and local districts regarding compliance.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the school’s Student Achievement Improvement Plan.
  • Supervise and evaluate teaching staff.
  • Manage teacher performance and provide necessary training for professional development.
  • Manage Master and Lead Teachers and programs.
  • Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems.
  • Coordinate with teacher and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals.
