About The Position

The Special Programs Paraeducator position at Pleasant Valley Primary School involves working 3.75 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with specific times to be determined. The pay is according to the terms of the PSE negotiated union agreement. There are also opportunities for supplemental contracts for classified employees whose base contract is less than 8 hours per day, including before or after school bus duty/supervision and BEA Base Time, with pay rates ranging from $22.66/hr to $30.46/hr.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for lawful employment in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal history background check.
• Ability to provide proof of identity and citizenship or legal right to work upon hire.
• Must not have a serious behavioral problem that endangers the educational welfare or personal safety of students.

Nice To Haves

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting.
• Completion of the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of educational programs for students with special needs.
• Support teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as directed.
• Help with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom setup.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to the supervising teacher.
