About The Position

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Special Process Technician to join our team on 1st Shift in 8595 Turbine Disk. The Special Process Technician will have responsibility for the operation of cleaning, polishing, deburring, and pressure testing hardware, etc. He/she will participate in inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are manufactured in accordance with manufacturing standards and specifications. All Cell Specialists are also responsible to ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the assigned cell. Additionally, the Special Process Technician will: Reads and understands production planning instructions, blueprints and sketches. Adheres to strict cleanliness standards. Mixes and applies proper amounts of specified braze alloy on hardware in specified locations. Applies proper stop-off on hardware in specific locations. Applies braze foils in accordance with production planning using tack welding equipment. Loads & unloads vacuum furnaces. Follows production planning in regard to stacking, placement, orientation, time and temperature. Inspects hardware before and after furnace to ensure proper heat treating or bonding of materials. Pressure tests and/or flow tests parts to ensure the integrity of brazed joints. Maintains accurate and reliable documentation of lot batches and maintains traceability. Performs inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are manufactured in accordance with standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces. Maintains proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensures that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained. Communicates with other shifts to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation. Performs routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated. Cleans, organizes and maintains cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards. Ensures the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell. Adheres to all safety standards and regulations. Strives to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of hardware through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or GED and a minimum of six months of directly related experience
  • Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management
  • Reads, understands and correctly interprets basic blueprint drawings
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist. (Note – must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.)
  • Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
  • Must have grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
