About The Position

Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories. Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician. Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table. Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance. Records, processes, and maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports. Sets up examination rooms ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use. Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent
  • ARRT Certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
