About The Position

Position Summary: The Cardiovascular Technologist (Special Procedures Tech) is responsible for performing the appropriate skills and techniques necessary during a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure under the scope of practice. The RT has the responsibility of identifying and maintain patient safety as it relates to radiation exposure and safety. Position rotates between scrub and monitor. On call requirement with a 30-minute response time. Department Procedures include but are not limited to: • Coronary angiogram/angioplasty • Peripheral angiogram/angioplasty • Neuro interventional angiogram/angioplasty • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) and Thoracic vessel repair • Neuro Coronary Peripheral Pulmonary Thrombectomy • Central/Port placement and removal • Electrophysiology procedures including Ablation • Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) procedures • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) • Cardioversion

Requirements

  • Degree from and accredited Radiologic Technologist School
  • Current ARRT license, California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license and California Fluoroscopy license.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum of 1- year acute care experience
  • Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Special Procedures experience, Diagnostic experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
