The Radiologic Technologist is the primary liaison between patients, departmental physicians, and other members of the support team. They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills. The Radiologic Technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. They maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiologic positioning and exposure techniques and maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety. The Radiologic Technologist prepares for and assists the physician in the completion of intricate radiologic examinations and prepares and administers contrast media in accordance with state, federal, and hospital regulations.
