About The Position

The Special Procedures Tech in Interventional Radiology at Texas Health Dallas is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with on-call requirements and a necessity to live within a 30-minute drive from the facility. The department is a Level 1 Trauma and Certified Stroke Center with four procedure rooms, offering a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The role includes self-scheduling to promote work/life balance and opportunities for educational and career growth, supported by an engaged team of physicians and leadership.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in applied science or completion of an accredited program in radiology technology required.
• High School Diploma plus 2 years work experience in special procedures required.
• 1 Year vascular or cardiac angiography preferred or 2 years required with high school diploma.
• ARRT certification upon hire required.
• RCIS or RCES certification upon hire required.
• CMRT certification if ARRT upon hire required.
• BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 Year vascular or cardiac angiography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, troubleshoots, and initiates quality improvement in imaging.
• Explains procedures to patients or guardians/family members prior to exams.
• Performs complex procedures considering age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
• Assists radiologists with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
• Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS.
• Performs assignments deemed necessary by supervisor.
