Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Vocational School Graduate.
• (ARRT-R) Radiography, or (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
• Minimum of two years working as an Interventional Radiology Technologist (Required).

Responsibilities

• Assists the IR supervisor to ensure the safety guidelines and radiographic equipment safety is in compliance for the department.
• Maintains competency and proficiency with all Interventional Radiology equipment in order to obtain quality images.
• Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self.
• Utilizes all personal protective equipment.
• Operates Interventional Radiology equipment safely.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. RIS, PACS) to ensure proper procedural documentation and charges.
• Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
• Explains all procedures to the patient.
• Performs physical assessment by checking IVs, catheters, tubing, etc.
• Communicates and coordinates all Interventional Radiology procedures with the appropriate caregivers.
