About The Position

Under the guidance of the Director/ manager, the Special Procedure Tech supervises activities of technologists/students working and/or rotating through the department, including their discipline and performance while in that area. This role assists with completing competencies for the position within a designated introductory period and, in the absence of the IR supervisor, monitors par levels, orders supplies, and places charges for patient exams and supplies. The Special Procedure Tech is also responsible for the completion of the daily patient schedule and other related duties as assigned. SMMC is recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and features a level III NICU. Pediatric services are exclusively provided at the Palm Beach Childrens Hospital at St. Marys Medical Center, the only dedicated children's hospital between Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando, offering 24/7 dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma care with a medical staff of 196 pediatricians across 36 subspecialties.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises activities of technologists/students working and/or rotating through the department including their discipline and performance while in that area.
  • Assist with completing competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
  • In the absence of the IR supervisor monitors par levels, order supplies and places charges for patient exams and supplies.
  • Responsible for completion of daily patient schedule.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
