About The Position

The position involves performing protective, law enforcement, and security services to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, teammates, and property at High Point Medical Center. Responsibilities include investigating criminal acts on hospital grounds, making arrests, protecting life and property, patrolling hospital buildings and grounds, and preventing theft and vandalism. The role also requires acting as a first responder to any imminent threat to life or safety.

Requirements

• Basic law enforcement training.
• General law enforcement certification per North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards or ability to transfer certification from another jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Intervene appropriately and effectively when encountering unruly, abusive, combative, threatening, or armed persons.
• Apprehend and arrest individuals for criminal activity.
• Complete investigations of any criminal activity occurring within assigned jurisdiction.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for assistance.
• Complete uniform incident reports and other assigned documentation.
• Communicate in a calm, factual, objective, and courteous manner with all persons.
• Coordinate and communicate with community police agencies as appropriate.
• Provide armed response to any imminent situation that threatens life or safety.
• Assist teammates and serve as a subject matter expert in criminal process.
• Prepare criminal cases for court proceedings, attend court, and testify in criminal proceedings.
