About The Position

The Special Operations Terminal Attack Controller Course (SOTACC) Instructor provides expert instructional, evaluation, and operational support to Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) in support of the SOTACC mission. This role delivers classroom, simulator, live-fire, and Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) instruction to Special Operations Forces personnel undergoing JTAC qualification and advanced fires training. The SOTACC Instructor ensures training is executed in accordance with USSOCOM and MARFORSOC directives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, realism, and doctrinal accuracy. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Held or exceeded a JTAC-I qualification as a uniformed service member in accordance with service JTAC guidance. JTAC-I/E qualification must have occurred within the last 48 months.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a SOF JTAC .
  • Demonstrated experience instructing and mentoring JTACs in classroom, simulator, and live-fire environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAS procedures, fires integration, and JTAC training standards.
  • Ability to deliver clear, accurate , and safety-focused instruction in high-tempo training environments.
  • Active SECRET clearance on Day 1 of contract execution.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and comply with all DoD security and OPSEC requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience instructing within SOTACC or other SOF JTAC training pipelines.
  • Experience supporting Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training environments.
  • Prior instructor, evaluator, or cadre experience in a SOF training organization.
  • Familiarity with MARFORSOC JTAC program administration and qualification tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide JTAC instruction, training, and evaluation support to SOTACC students in classroom, live, and LVC training environments.
  • Deliver instruction to JTACs under instruction during Mission Qualification Training (MQT), Unit Level Training (ULT), and other directed training events.
  • Conduct JTAC and JTAC-I/E simulator training , mission rehearsal, and exercise support.
  • Support range operations , including mission duties during live-fire and training events.
  • Assist with CAS malfunction, accident, and incident response , including immediate actions and required reporting.
  • Maintain JTAC and JTAC-I/E qualifications in compliance with: JFS ESC AP MOU 2024-01 (JTAC Ground) USSOCOM M 350-5 USSOCOM D 525-13 MARFORSOC 3500.2 series orders
  • Conduct JTAC evaluations (when qualified) of MARFORSOC and other service personnel as directed by JTAC Program leadership.
  • Perform required training to attain and maintain Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualifications and execute RSO duties during training events.
  • Assist with range and supporting asset scheduling when directed by MARFORSOC JTAC Program leadership or the SOTACC Training Manager.
  • Support JTAC program management , including qualification tracking, administrative documentation, and readiness reporting.
  • Provide immediate response and substantiating documentation for any safety incident involving contractor personnel.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct consistent with Marine Corps civilian attire and grooming standards.
