About The Position

The Special Operations Psychological Mental Health Technician shall assist with the management and treatment of outpatient behavioral health activities. This position is based onsite at Fort Bragg, NC, and offers relocation. The technician will work under the supervision of licensed professionals to provide a wide range of behavioral health interventions from prevention to treatment. Responsibilities include conducting intakes, assisting with care and treatment of psychiatric patients, leading therapy sessions, and maintaining statistical data. The role requires independent work and the ability to resolve various problems while adhering to guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Requires a Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain a clearance.
  • An associate degree or equivalent training as a psychiatric technician or mental health program assistant.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a psychiatric technician.
  • Must attend psychiatric technicians’ training.
  • Must maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management and treatment of outpatient behavioral health activities.
  • Conduct intakes and assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients.
  • Counsel clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems.
  • Observe patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations to licensed staff.
  • Lead individual or group therapy sessions under the guidance of a licensed mental health professional.
  • Complete initial intake interviews and required forms for new patients.
  • Collect and maintain monthly statistical data for the workplace.
  • Administer psychological tests and prepare reports under supervision.
  • Maintain a computerized database for training statistics.
  • Prepare daily correspondence and maintain attendance rosters.
  • Assist in developing program-operating instructions and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure proper supply stock levels and reorder as necessary.
  • Gather data for presentations on process improvements and hospitalizations.
  • Provide information to Command members and interface with family support organizations.
  • Maintain competency folders and coordinate attendance at Case Review Committee meetings.
  • Prepare open and closed case reports for outpatient medical records.
  • Maintain a resource library for professional staff and customers.
