About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver experienced in supporting individuals with special needs, including autism spectrum disorder, non-verbal communication, and Sanfilippo Syndrome. The ideal candidate provides patient, structured, and individualized care that helps each child thrive.

Requirements

Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, non-verbal communication, or developmental disabilities.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to compassion, safety, and consistency in care.

Responsibilities

Support morning and after-school routines (dressing, hygiene, breakfast, transitions, snack, and structured activities).
Maintain routine and consistency to reduce anxiety and promote comfort.
Use visual supports such as picture schedules and charts to aid understanding.
Apply positive reinforcement to encourage communication and progress.
Create a calm environment and reduce sensory overload when needed.
Demonstrate patience and flexibility, adapting to each child’s unique needs.
Support participation in educational, recreational, and community activities.
Assist with daily living skills, personal hygiene, and transportation as needed.
Accurately document services provided, maintaining compliance with CMS, DODD, OOD, and CARF standards.
Ensure a safe and respectful environment, upholding dignity and person-centered values.
Teach new hard and soft skills and provide input for Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).
