Special Needs Caregiver (DSP)

Be the DSP you always wanted to be at BAYADA Home Health! BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking a Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join the team in Lincolnton, NC. BAYADA’s Direct Support Professionals DSPs work one-on-one in home and community settings as a companion and mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disability to help them reach their full potential. We’re hiring urgently for the following areas: Lincolnton, Denver, Stanley, and the surrounding area. Shifts available : Afternoons, Evenings (3pm - 9pm) during the weekdays; flexible weekends (up to 12 hour shifts) shifts subject to change based on client needs
Requirements
- One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities (If you do not have this experience, training is available through our apprentice program)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming)
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities
- Help lift and reposition clients.
