About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work one-on-one in home and community settings as a companion and mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disability to help them reach their full potential. The Habilitation Apprentice Program allows individuals with no prior health care experience to receive paid training and gain skills to support people with I/DD, such as autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome, helping them live more independent, purposeful lives. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance (bathing, hygiene, grooming, and other activities of daily living)
Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation and housekeeping
Take clients on errands and appointments
Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
Participate in community integration activities
