Purpose Transporting special needs students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions Ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition Ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses Responsibilities Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations Assists Bus Assistant, students and other passengers Attends meetings, trainings, etc. Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior Conducts emergency evacuation drills Drives school bus/s Fuels assigned vehicle, (e.g. oil, water, fuel, etc.) Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, (e.g. fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.) Prepares documents and reports, (e.g. field trip reports, incident reports, inspection records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, MIPS forms, etc.) Reports observations and/or incidents, (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, health, etc.) Responds to inquires, (e.g. students, parents, other school personnel, etc.) Supervises students and other passengers during transit Assists other personnel as may be required Experience is desired. Full time with Benefits - 25-40 hrs. per week. $15.25 per hour - depending on experience; w/Certificate. The District trains new bus drivers. Qualifications - Alcohol and Drug Test, Pre-placement Physical Exam, Criminal Justice fingerprint/background clearance, Random drug testing. This is a 10 month School Year position only.
