About The Position

The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan invites qualified persons with a passion for Physical Therapy to apply for a full-time special instructor appointment. The Department of Human Movement Science, Physical Therapy Program at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan invites applications for a Special Instructor to begin August 15, 2019. Responsibilities include teaching, student advising, university and community service, and scholarship, meeting the expectations for a core faculty member and APTA standards. Qualifications include doctoral degree completed by August 15, 2019 as well as clinical experience in physical therapy. Applicants with expertise in neurologic physical therapy and teaching experience are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate should hold or be eligible for Michigan Physical Therapy licensure. Content expertise of the candidate and the current physical therapy faculty will determine teaching responsibilities. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Clinical experience in physical therapy
  • Holding or eligible for Michigan Physical Therapy licensure
  • The pursuit or attainment of a doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, DPT )
  • Candidates who are nearing completion will be considered if they can demonstrate evidence of completing degree requirements by August 15, 2019.
