The Department of Biological Sciences at Oakland University invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in the area of human physiology to be filled by August 15, 2019. The appointment, as a Special Instructor, is a full-time, teaching-track faculty position leading to job security, the equivalent of tenure. Special Instructors are expected to teach three 4-credit classes in both the Fall and Winter semesters and to participate in service and program development activities and course design. Courses offered by the department service multiple majors and programs including, Biology, Health Sciences, Biomedical Science and pre-Nursing majors. The position offers a competitive salary package and outstanding retirement and health care benefits. Additional compensation may be available for summer instruction May through August. The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate, and upper- and lower-level undergraduate courses and laboratory courses in physiology as part of a team of faculty and instructors within the department. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in physiology or a related field, and teaching experience in physiology. Candidates with demonstrated experience in current experimental and clinical approaches will be considered favorably. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
