About The Position
The Special Inspector (Assistant Chief) will be responsible for maintaining security services at all NYC Transit Shops/ Yards/Depots/Facilities and Locations managing Transit Property Protection Agents (TPPA's) and Transit Property Protection Supervisors (TPPS) to ensure all security posts are adequately covered. This individual will have a variety of assignments, including security supervisory management, sensitive and confidential investigations, coordination surveillance work, identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies, and the efficient deployment of personnel and assets. In addition, the selected candidate will respond to security incidents in the field and provides timely communications to senior management. The Special Inspector (Assistant Chief) will be required to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. The selected candidate will be required to drive a NYC Transit vehicle and will also be required to work under adverse conditions, e.g. in subway tunnels, platforms, train yards, depots, and street level bus stops.
