About The Position

The Special Events Attendant provides customer service and operational support for various exhibits and shows. This role involves assisting guests to safely enjoy attractions, selling tickets and retail merchandise using suggestive selling techniques, and operating cash registers and POS systems while adhering to established cash control procedures. The attendant is also responsible for answering guest inquiries via phone, in person, or electronically, and providing clear directions. Key aspects of the role include following company policies, reporting unsafe conditions, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and ensuring guest satisfaction by welcoming and anticipating their needs. The position also requires professional communication, fostering positive team relationships, complying with quality assurance standards, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements. Physical demands include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service in the areas of operations for various exhibits and shows.
  • Operate attraction/event by assisting guests to safely enjoy their experience.
  • Sell tickets to attraction/event by providing accurate information in a suggestive selling manner.
  • Sell retail merchandise utilizing suggestive selling methods and maintaining displays as needed.
  • Operate cash register and POS system to sell tickets or merchandise.
  • Be responsible for cash bank and deposits following established cash control procedures.
  • Answer guest inquiries via phone, personally or electronically in a prompt, courteous manner.
  • Direct guests to proper location with clear instructions.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Verify uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support team to reach common goals.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Identify and recommend new ideas, technologies, or processes to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
