About The Position
Boothby Therapy Services is hiring an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to support some of Maine's youngest learners in Belfast, Maine! We are seeking passionate, collaborative educators who are committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs. Position Overview Special Education Teachers will provide individualized instruction and support to students in accordance with their IEPs. Teachers will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to promote student success in inclusive and specialized settings.
Requirements
- Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Special Education
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with student goals and state standards
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements
- Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development
