About The Position

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Ashlawn Elementary School. All Teachers/Instructional Staff hired after January 15th are considered term employees. This position is a term position that is effective for FY26 through June 18, 2026 only. You would need to re-apply for a position for FY27.

Requirements

• Teaching experience in special education
• Knowledge of best instructional practices
• Ability to integrate technology
• Experience in educational and instructional leadership
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Special Education endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
• Maintains safe and orderly environment
• Communicates with parents/guardians
• Maintains complete and accurate student records
• Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
• Monitors and assesses student achievement
• Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
