Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Illinois Teaching License with Special Education endorsement
• Strong knowledge of IDEA and Illinois special education guidelines
• Effective classroom and behavior management skills
• Proficiency with assistive technology and educational software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s preferred
• Prior school-based experience preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Provide specialized instruction in Resource, Inclusion, or Self-Contained classroom settings
• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
• Track and document student progress; prepare progress reports and required documentation
• Supervise and support paraprofessionals and classroom aides
