About The Position

The Sudbury Public Schools, a prek-8 district, is seeking a skilled and dynamic special education teacher to work at the Curtis Middle School. The special education teacher/sub will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support, co-teaching, and inclusionary practice in the general education classroom combined with pull out Skills Center instruction for small groups and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs
• Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year reevaluations of caseload students
• Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems
• Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for newly referred and caseload students
• Write comprehensive progress reports
• Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Provide ongoing positive communication with parents
• Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals
• Other related duties as assigned.
