Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Virginia Teaching License with Special Education endorsement
- Strong knowledge of IDEA and Virginia special education regulations
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills

- Experience with assistive technology and educational tools preferred
- Prior school-based experience preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Deliver specialized instruction in resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom settings
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Track student progress, maintain documentation, and provide progress reports
- Supervise and support paraprofessionals and classroom aides
