Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
A current special education certification with proper endorsement(s) according to state and federal standards.
Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment is required in AZ only.
Ability to pass a criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

Two plus years SPED Teaching experience and proven proficiency and experience in the subject of focus and specialty area of this position.

Responsibilities

Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students and allows them to perform at their very best.
Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media; consistent with the physical limitations of the provided location and the needs and capabilities of the individuals involved.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Recognize and evaluate the learning and other disabilities of students on a regular basis; seek the assistance or referral of district specialists as required.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
Explore individual needs and give side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns and develop personalized solutions to each student’s learning style and abilities.
Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process and students toward the achievement of the curriculum goals.
Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
