Position Overview: Design and implement lesson plans for a highly structured 1st/2nd-grade classroom of 5 students, focusing on significant behavioral, social, and communication needs. Manage a Level D environment utilizing Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and autism-specific strategies to ensure a safe, supportive atmosphere. Lead and collaborate with classroom Paraprofessionals and support staff to deliver integrated services and maintain a data-driven IEP process. Participate in daily 8:00 AM morning meetings to review, coordinate, and adjust the day's instructions while maintaining documentation for student progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona Special Education Certification (Provisional, Standard, or Reciprocal) in any of the following: Cross-Categorical, LD, ED, MR (K-12), or Severely/Profoundly Disabled
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Training (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • Training in current methods of working with students with behavioral and autism characteristics (Preferred)
