Job Description Working with a classroom of 7 up to 18 students Preparing and implementing large and small group plans that are age-appropriate and meet the IEP goals for each child Differentiating instruction across a variety of developmental strengths, needs and diagnoses, as specified on the Individual Education Plan (IEP) Administering standardized tests and writing comprehensive reports that are individualized per student strengths and needs Presenting information at Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) meetings The ability to work collaboratively with classroom staff and a team of professionals Communicating clearly and concisely with families, classroom staff, professional colleagues and personnel from other agencies.

Requirements

  • New York State Certification in Special Education (Student with Disabilities Birth to 2nd Grade) is required.
  • Graduates on an active Teacher Certification path will be considered.
  • Reliable commute or planning to relocate is required before starting work
  • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Special education: 1 year (Preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a preschool setting is preferred.
  • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Special education: 1 year (Preferred)
  • License/Certification: Teaching Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Working with a classroom of 7 up to 18 students
