About The Position

Benton-Carroll-Salem Local School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resource Intervention Specialist to provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities. The specialist will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers, and use evidence-based strategies to promote academic, functional, and social-emotional growth for all learners. This position plays a critical role in supporting student success within both resource and inclusive classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and Ohio Department of Education requirements.
• Provide direct, small-group, and individualized instruction in resource or inclusion settings.
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials to ensure accessibility and alignment with IEP goals.
• Use research-based interventions, progress monitoring, and data collection to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and co-teaching when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, services provided, and compliance records.
• Participate in Evaluation Team Report (ETR) meetings, IEP conferences, and parent/guardian communications.
• Implement behavioral intervention strategies and support positive student behavior.
• Coordinate with related service providers (speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, etc.) to ensure holistic support for students.
• Stay current with best practices, state regulations, and district policies in special education.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
