Job SummaryThe Special Education Teacher at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School provides specialized instructional support to students with diverse learning needs within a faith‑centered educational environment. This role collaborates with teachers, families, and administrators to develop and implement instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions that promote student success while supporting the mission and Catholic identity of the school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (required).
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to implement effective instructional interventions and accommodations.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid special education teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small‑group instruction to students with identified learning needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor student learning plans and accommodations in collaboration with classroom teachers and administration.
  • Support differentiated instruction and intervention strategies within general education classrooms as appropriate.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with school and diocesan guidelines.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align instructional strategies and support student achievement.
  • Participate in meetings related to student services, academic progress, and intervention planning.
  • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and support strategies.
  • Support students’ academic, organizational, social, and behavioral development.
  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with all legal, diocesan, and school regulations related to special education services.
  • Support the Catholic mission and values of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School through respectful conduct and positive role modeling.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
