Requirements
- The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Bachelorâs degree and a valid New York State Special Education Teaching Certificate from an accredited institution.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Certification is highly preferred and will distinguish applicants in the selection process.
- Prior experience working with special populations is also strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and progress monitoring.
- Provide direct instruction to students based on their unique learning needs, goals, and accommodations.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional methods to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with NYSED guidelines.
- Adapt curriculum materials, instructional strategies, and assessments to ensure access and meaningful participation.
- Stay up-to-date with NYSED special education regulations, best practices, and professional learning requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
