About The Position

We have exciting opportunities at a public school serving students ages 2-15 with autism, developmental disabilities, and communication disorders. As a school-based Special Education Teacher, you'll play a key role in creating a positive and effective academic environment tailored to each student's needs. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing lesson plans, leading classes, writing and executing IEPs, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with related-services staff to ensure students thrive. Requirements

• A Bachelor's of Science in Education with an emphasis in teaching students with special needs is recommended
• You must pass several tests to gain Special Education credentials
• Comprehensive background checks, including fingerprinting, are required for student safety
• Provide proof of completing an accredited educator preparation program

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and modify instruction to meet the individual needs of students
• Provide behavioral management
• Monitor, evaluate and report on students' progress
• Attend and participate in meetings
