Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• A valid Colorado Teaching Certificate endorsed in area of assignment.
• Must be Highly Qualified by CDE's standards in Special Education.
• Endorsed in Special Education - OR -
• PLACE Special Education Generalist exam
• Endorsement must be Special Education
• Applicants with a BA (or higher - in ANY area) AND who are in (or willing to be in) and a Special Education program are eligible to apply
• Can be enrolled in a TEE or Alternative Licensure program
• Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate.
• Advanced oral and written communications.
• Advanced interpersonal skills.
• Advanced time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Knowledge and use of instructional theories, models of practice, principles, and evidence-based practice related to special education.
• Knowledge of the federal, state, local legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures that mandate and guide special education.
