About The Position

The Sharon Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE special education teacher beginning April 7, 2025 for the remainder of the 24-25 year in the Developmental Learning Program at Cottage Elementary School. The Developmental Learning Program (DLP) serves students who have some or all of their academic content provided in a smaller learning environment using specially designed instruction, modified curriculum, and ABA-based learning with social inclusion within the larger school community. Students typically have been identified with global developmental delays and/or health impairments, but may also have sensory impairments, autism spectrum disorders, and neurological disabilities with cognitive delay. The successful candidate for this position will have experience with students with multiple disabilities.

Requirements

• Experience with students with multiple disabilities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• DESE Licensure required: Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities (All) or Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8)

Responsibilities

• Direct instruction with students based on IEP goals
• Data collection
• Act as case manager/liaison for students on instructional caseload
• Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations
• Collaboration/consultation with BCBA, general education teachers as well as related service providers
• Communication between home and school
• Administer and analyze special education assessments as part of the initial and revaluation eligibility process
• Write evaluation reports which include diagnostic impressions and educationally relevant recommendations
• Facilitate and chair annual review team meetings
• Complete all necessary IEP process paperwork, including quarterly progress reports
